The lessons we never signed for, the classes we’d love to skip, are the ones we understood quite well. The school nobody would really willingly enroll to is the very school we’re all graduates! If not, we’re yet to.
The school of life.
With it’s endless lessons till we’re shaped to conquer, shaped to shine, shaped to win. The school that deals with the heart more than the brain. The academy of decisions in reference to the previous class lest a mistake recurs. The elders are our revision materials.
Mistakes not easily erased, rather we live with the consequences. This school is attended in the days of our youth to the days we close our eyes in death. The classes are never really over. Nobody gets away with anything done against a fellow classmate or rather a schoolmate.
Mother nature decides who, when and how to punish and reward. The school where you might wallow too long if you’re not careful. You have to wisen up to get to graduate. Your heart defiled and mind twisted, emotions tickled and soul beaten. This school gets our hearts broken, puts a smile on our faces, lightens our days, kills our hopes, illuminates our dreams.
It all happens at once step by step. The school of life teaches us patience and kindness in times of anger at it’s worst.
It’s never about knowledge, this is the school of wisdom. A matter of life and death. It’s like choosing between yes and yes.
