End Rape culture
Rape culture is not a myth. It is real, and it is dangerous. It has become a culture in which sexual violence is treated as the norm, and its victims are blamed for their own assaults. The culture aspect includes gender norms that validate men as sexual pursuers and attitudes that view women as sexual conquests by which manhood is legitimized and women are objectified (“bros before hoes”). Rape culture was created and perpetuated by men. Reporting rape isn’t the only way to change a broken system, and before you misquote me, I am not suggesting that women give up the good fight, no, but it is up to the men who created that system to change it.
Jokes that minimize the effects of rape on women, and men who go shouting to ladies, “you know you want it” and all manner of victim-blaming based upon what a woman wore or how drank she was before consenting to sex. No matter the scenario in which a girl is in, either she wakes up, hops into the shower, puts on a decent crop top and skirt, walks out the house, ends up getting raped by a random stranger, she visits her best friend wearing jeans and a hoody and her best friend’s brother rapes her. Or she doesn’t leave, she gets left behind at home and her uncle rapes her. No matter what a girl does, the story ends in the same way.
All along it isn’t about what the girl does or doesn’t do, it is about what we gentlemen will do. Because we taught our ladies not to leave their drinks alone, and forgot to teach our boys not to drug someone. Rape culture is a man problem. And it is up to we men to solve it.
End rape!!!
Stop rape!!!
Protect our women!!!
Hope this reaches all corners of the world! Love is never violent!
