Damaged

She was a secret treasure,

His shameful pleasure,

Her submissive nature,

A thing he took advantage of,

But did he mistake her silence ,

As a sign of feigned innocence?

Chains on her soul

No way out

No way back

Her eyes staring blankly

Her imagination running wild

Drinking away her misery

But she could never drink him out of her life.

She wished she could

Reach out to her younger version

Tell her never to blame herself

Hug her tight

And promise her

One day …

One day it’s gonna be OK

One day

She gonna  live on her own accord

But for now

She found a way to drown down

Her existence

Beneath the willow

Angels singing

She mastered her final will
